项目摘要

最終年度は、今まで行ってきた研究成果を統合し地域レベルでの応用を試みた。それらは主に下記の二つの研究からなる。一つは、Googleから入手したデータベースを活用し、複数の都市における関連事項を200年にわたる時間スケールでチャート化し、今まで量的に測的できていなかった都市の特徴を可視化することができた。本成果の論文を作成中である。また、生物多様性条約(CBD)の地域スケールでの実践となる都市のマクロレベル解析を行い、その結果は、2011年5月にJournal Biological Conservationに掲載され、過去6カ月において最もダウンロードされた25の論文のうちの一つとなっている。二つ目は、国連大学高等研究所で行われている都市開発のコベネフィット(co-benefit)に関する研究調査である。コベネフィットとは温室効果ガス及び大気中の汚染物質を同時に削減することである。本プロジェクトでは交通セクターについて研究を行った。持続的な交通システムの理論的枠組みを発展させ、複数の交通対策のシナリオ設定の為の評価ツールを開発した。本ツールは、ASIF枠組み;交通重要野削減(A)、大気汚染削減への変換(S)、燃料効率の向上(1),燃料の切り替え(F),を基に、交通の脱炭素を目指す。また、途上国の様々な統治能力を考慮し、ツールのガイドブックを作成した。2011年7月に開催されたThe International Forum for Sustainable Asia and Pacific (ISAP) in conjunction with the Asia Co-Benefit Partnershipにて本成果の発表を行った。本ツールの実証性を検証する為に、インドデリーにて事例研究を行った。2011年7月の現地調査では、市行政、交通部局、研究者、デリーメトロ会社等にインタビューを行い、データを収集した。この現地調査を通して、データ収集だけでなく、交通システムの構造及び都市への影響を把握することができた。これらの情報を活用し、ツールを使い現在および将来のコベネフィットを計算するモデル解析を行った。
