DEVELOPING FOREST-ESD MODELS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED

我们能够开发一个新的场地，东京的多摩森林研究中心，作为我们过去十年主要在爱媛松山开发的新实践区域之一。对参与者的访谈和对参与者行为的视频分析等研究方法是揭示Forest-ESD结果的最有效的分析方法。在对forest - esd过去的活动进行分类时，缺乏识别森林三维结构的活动。因此，我们采用爬树技术，将视障人士带到森林树冠上，实现树木和森林的三维结构。

We were able to develop a new site, Tama Forest Research Center in Tokyo as one of the new practice areas besides our former site mainly developed in Matsuyama, Ehime for the last ten years. Research methods such as interviews to the participants and video analysis on participant's behavior were the most effective analysis methods to expose the results of Forest-ESD. As we categorized the past activities of Forest-ESD, activities to recognized the 3D-structure of the forest was lacking. Therefore we adopted the Tree Climbing techniques to take the visually impaired up to the forest canopy to realize the 3D structure of a tree and the forest.
