项目摘要

本研究は、児童・生徒の「言葉で考え、言葉で論証する力」を育てるための離散数学の教材の体系化を目指して、以下の3点を研究の目的とした。(1)小・中学生の「言葉で考え,言葉で論証できる力」の現状を把握する。(2)指導可能な教材を開発し、蓄積する。(3)認識調査・授業実践を通して、小・中学生に応じた教材配列を提案し、指導原理を創出する。最終年度である平成22年度の成果をまとめると以下のようである。(1)小学校4学年・、中学校1-2年生を対象とした調査では、小学校4年生から6年生にかけて言葉による論証の力についての成長が見られるが、6年生から、中学校2年生にかけてはそれほど成長の変化がないという結果が見られた。これについては、今後さらにその原因を探る必要がある。(2)昨年度蓄積したグラフ理論の教材について、予備的な教育実験と認識調査の結果をもとに、小学校高学年から中学校の段階で学べるような教材配列を行った。また、その中の一部の教材を用いて中学校2年生4クラスの生徒を対象に授業実践を行った。授業の中では、昨年度開発したグラフ作成ソフト"gm for kids"を、生徒一人ひとりが操作する場面も取り入れ、その有効性を確認した。特にソフトの利用によって、グラフの構造を発見しやすくなり、またそのことを自分の言葉で表現しやすくなることがわかった。しかし、それを論証としてまとめ上げていくときには、数人のグループ活動の中で自分で考えた論証が正しいか、あるいは、よりよい表現はないかなどについて、生徒が考えること機会をもたせることが重要であることが分かった。
