To bridge the semantic gap in multi-cultural collaboration, a meta-data translation system is developed. A method of automatic meta-data generation from Web documents, meta-data translation mechanism using ontology mapping, and mapping algorithm between multi-language ontologies are proposed. Usefulness of the proposed method is demonstrated by building a prototype system between Japanese and English using cooking recipe contents as a example.
