The research investigated the competitiveness of the Japanese manufacturing firms in Asian countries in comparison with those of US and European countries by addressing the following issues.(1)Are the characteristics of the Japanese manufacturing firms in Asia are different from those of US and European countries?(2)How can we characterize the competitiveness change in comparison with those of US and European countries?Our research processes consist of the following five steps:(1)Summary of the preceding studies and hypothesis setting.(2)Data analysis for building econometric models.(3)Micro data analysis in Asian countries.(4)Building econometric models and their estimations.(5)Comparisons of the competitiveness of the Japanese firms with those of those of US and European countries.

本研究通过对以下问题进行分析，比较了日本制造企业与欧美企业在亚洲各国的竞争力。（1）日本在亚洲的制造业企业的特征与欧美国家不同吗？（2）与美国和欧洲国家相比，我们如何描述竞争力的变化？研究过程包括以下五个步骤：（1）对前人研究的总结和假设设定。（2）建立计量经济模型的数据分析。（3）亚洲国家微观数据分析。（4）计量经济模型的建立及其估计。（5）日本企业与欧美企业竞争力的比较。
