项目摘要

最終年度である2013年度前半は、これまで進めてきた研究の成果を公表すべく論文の執筆に取り組んだ。まず、秋葉淳・橋本伸也編『近代・イスラームの比較教育社会史(仮題)』(昭和堂・2014年刊行予定)に収録される論文「ハプスブルクとオスマンの間で-ボスニアの進歩的ムスリムによる教育改革論」を執筆した。そこでは、ハプスブルク帝国統治下におかれたボスニアにおいて、進歩的ムスリムと呼ばれた知識人層がいかなる教育改革論を唱えたのか、という問題について論じた。原稿はすでに編集者の確認をへて出版社による校正作業の段階にあり、来年度には刊行される予定である。さらに、「ハプスブルク帝国によるボスニア占領とイスラームの対応」という論文も執筆し、『史潮』新74号(2013年12月)に掲載された。そこでは、現在まで進めてきた筆者の研究内容を紹介するために、ハプスブルク帝国がボスニァで展開した統治政策の特徴と、それに対するイスラーム教徒の全般的な反応について考察した。次に2013年度後半は、当時のボスニアにおいてムスリム知識人が直面したイスラーム教徒の移住問題に関する研究活動を進行した。まず、彼らの文芸誌や機関紙を精読・分析することから開始し、移住活動に関して彼らがどのような意見を述べていたのか、という点を確認した。ただしそこからは、移住活動が生じた背景やその社会的影響を十分に把握することができなかったため、史料調査の必要性が生じた。そのため2014年2月に約2週間ボスニアの首都サラエヴォに滞在し、国立文書館において史料調査を行った。その結果、この移住活動に関してハプスブルク帝国の統治機関が残した多数の行政文書が存在することが明らかとなった。今後は、これらの未刊行史料を網羅的に収集・分析することを継続しながら、口頭発表や論文投稿を通じてその研究成果を公表していく予定である。
