Detection of vulnerable plaque is a promising strategy for atherosclerosis imaging. Vulnerable plaque is characterized by the infiltration of inflammatory cells. SLX-Lipo-statin attenuated the inflammation of atherosclerotic lesions in vivo, which was monitored non-invasively. We demonstrated that E-selectin-targeted liposomes can be a powerful tool for the detection of and the treatment for atheromatous plaques with the advantage of non-invasive and repeatable assessment.

易损斑块的检测是动脉粥样硬化成像的一种很有前途的策略。易损斑块的特点是炎性细胞的渗入。SLX-Lipo-statin在体内减轻动脉粥样硬化病变的炎症，这是非侵入性监测的。我们证明E-选择素靶向脂质体是检测和治疗动脉粥样斑块的有力工具，具有非侵入性和可重复性的优点。
