项目摘要

第一に、ケアの倫理と共通点が多くその一種と誤解されもする徳倫理との関係性を検討した。まず、ケア論者による徳あるいは徳倫理学の扱い方を検討した。多くのケア論者はケアをする際に、徳が重要な役割を果たしていることを述べている。しかしそれにもかかわらず、ケアの倫理は徳倫理学とは区別して論じられてきた。そこで、ケア理論家が徳倫理学をいかに扱っているか、ケアの倫理と徳倫理学との異同はいかなるものかを考察した。次に、徳倫理の主唱者のなかにはケアの倫理に関心を寄せる論者が多く、ケアの倫理に類似した主張をする論者も見受けられる（Baier、Slote、A. MacIntyre、C. Taylor）。そのような徳倫理学の論者自身の記述に即してケアの倫理との比較研究を行うことによって、ケアの倫理の倫理学における位置づけを図った。また、ケアの倫理は理論上の議論にのみ留まってはいけない。そのため、ケアの倫理は看護倫理として適切かという観点から、ケアの倫理を看護分野に応用することの有用性と問題点について考察した。具体的には、ケアの倫理は自身に身近な者のケアを重視するため、医療や看護のように公平性の担保が不可欠であるように思われる分野には不適切な倫理理論であるという批判を扱った。それにより、正義の倫理が等しき者に対する公平性に従って理論構成を行っているのにたいして、ケアの倫理は特定の等しからざる者の要求に応えるための「衡平」を実現するための議論を展開していることを指摘した。さらに、知識・能力ともに非対称な個人同士の関係を前提にしたケアの看護倫理は、福祉や教育の分野にケアの倫理を適用する際の布石になるように思われる。とりわけ特定の患者、特定の高齢者あるいは障害者、特定の子どもなど、それぞれの個別のニーズや要求に応答する場面を考える場合には、ケアの倫理のアプローチは有益な示唆を与えうることを明らかにした。
