项目摘要

本研究は、犯罪者の表象を、学者や議員らによるもの、作家たちによるものに分けて比較し、19世紀後半の犯罪者処遇の歴史、犯罪に関する知の発展のようす、そして作家たちの犯罪者描写の特徴・意義を明らかにすることを目的としている。4月には、19世紀後半に行なわれたパリ大改造を多角的に論じる共著『パリという首都風景の誕生』が出版され、監獄改革をめぐる言説と首都改造をめぐる言説の類似を指摘した。6月には監獄図書コンクールをめぐる論文が、犯罪学史に関するオンライン紀要Criminocorpusに日仏両語で掲載された。この紀要に文学研究家の論文が載ることは初めてであることから、掲載は歴史、文学、犯罪学に跨る当該研究が世界的に認められた証と言えるだろう。8月には受入教授との共訳『ラスネール回想録』が出版された。多くの歴史家たちに注目されてきた犯罪者であり、さまざまな作家に霊感を与えてきた人物でもあるラスネールの回想録を初めて邦訳し、さらには自伝・歴史・文学という3つの異なる視点からのあとがきを付したことにより、日本の歴史家、文学研究家たちの研究に貢献するとともに、当該研究についても広めることができた。9月にはゴンクール兄弟と監獄問題に関するフランス語論文が、日本フランス語フランス文学会の紀要に掲載された。10月には日本フランス語フランス文学会秋季大会においてワークショップ「文学は知をどのように取り込むか」を受入教授とともに企画した。12月には南山大学地域研究センター共同研究において、ベルギーの犯罪学者ド・グレーフと文学の関係について発表した。3月には、日本フランス語フランス文学会関東支部大会において、ロートレアモンとラスネールについて発表した。また、南山大学地域研究センターでの共同研究者たちとの共著『近代科学と芸術創造―19-20世紀ヨーロッパにおける科学と文学の関係―』が出版された。

This study aims to compare the criminal's appearance, the characteristics and significance of scholars, legislators, writers, and the history of criminal's treatment in the second half of the 19th century, the development of criminal knowledge, and the description of criminals by writers.
