平成25年度の主要な成果として、まずは天理南方文化研究会発行の学術雑誌『南方文化』に掲載された論文「ダムロン親王『シャム仏蹟史』(1926)の成立と思想」があげられる。本論文では、これまでおもに美術史の分野における著作と見なされていた『シャム仏蹟史』をとりあげ、政治思想的な観点から再評価を試みた。その結果、同書は美術史的な説明をおこなうと同時に、王権の正統性・シャムの統一性・バンコクの中心性を主張するものであったことを明らかにした。図らずも、気鋭の若手研究者として知られるシリポット・ラオマーナチャルーン(美術史)、チャートリー・プラキットノンタカーン(建築史)の両氏が、『シャム仏蹟史』をテーマとした論文を拙稿と同時期にタイ国内において発表していた。この事実は、タイ人の歴史家にもひけをとらない研究代表者(日向)の的確な問題意識のあらわれといえる。学会発表については、東南アジア学会およびタイ北部の都市チェンマイでおこなわれた国際学会「Thai Studies through the East Wind」で口頭発表をおこなった。上記の論文は、東南アジア学会における発表の一部をもとにした成果である。また、国際学会では平成24年度に発表した論文をペースにタイ語で[頭発表をおこない、タイ思想史の第一人者であるサーイチョン・サッタヤーヌラック教授から貴重なコメントをいただいた。バンコクの公文書館・図書館等でおこなった史料収集調査においては、1924年にタイ初の文化財保護令が公布された背景を示す重要な公文書を発見したことが最大の成果である。
