项目摘要

これまでの集合知研究では見逃されてきた新しい視点からの実験を行い、結果を 2 本の論文としてまとめ、それそぞれ学術雑誌上で発表した。集団意思決定には「集約型意思決定」と呼ばれる状況がある。それは各個体が個別に意思決定しながらも、互いに情報をやり取りしあう事で結果として集団レベルでのパターンが生じる状況である。情報化に伴い、ネットショッピングなど各消費者が影響を及ぼしながら個々の意思決定を下すという集約型意思決定の場面は日常に多く見られるようになった。しかし、こうした集約型意思決定場面で集合知が生じる条件は自明ではなく、経験的にテストする意義があった。集約型意思決定状況としてMulti-ArmedBandit 問題という不確実性の伴う環境での最適選択課題を用い、実験室で実験を行った。参加者らは5人一組となり、互いに他のメンバーの行動を観察する事で社会的学習をすることができた。実験には2つの条件を設けた。1つは社会情報として他のメンバーの選択行動(選択頻度)のみが観察できる条件で、2つ目は選択頻度情報に加え、近年様々なインターネットサイトで利用されているような、各メンバーが自由に付けた5点満点の「口コミ」評価点をも参照することができた。実験の結果、個人あたりの意思決定のパフォーマンスは、「口コミ」を利用できる条件の方がむしろ低くなっていた。「口コミ」は、選択肢の質を表す情報量のあるシグナルとなっていたにも関わらず、もう1つの社会情報であった頻度情報にくらべノイズが大きく、参加者はかえって混乱してしまった。このことから、集約型意思決定における情報伝達のメディアはシンプルな方が、意思決定のパフォーマンスを向上させるということが示唆された。
