A Study of Medical Anthropology on Care in the AIDS temple

在这项研究中，我试图澄清泰国社会中艾滋病毒/艾滋病患者死亡和姑息治疗的意义。“礼死”是艾滋病寺的一种社会性死亡形式，研究其产生的社会文化背景。他们的关怀需要“道德见证”来建立对生死的价值意识。道德见证支持人们为善轮回而死的仪式。人们对所有的关怀都有“宽恕和遗忘”，即使他们对垂死的人似乎没有怜悯。在他们学习成为寺庙的一员之后，人们开始原谅和忘记别人的错误，以便被别人原谅和忘记。最后，我想通过我的志愿者工作，比较一下小乘佛教和基督教的姑息治疗。我希望艾滋病毒/艾滋病的情况给我们思考如何照顾人民，减少歧视，并重新思考我们的生与死。

In this research, I try to clarify the meaning of death and palliative care for the people living with HIV/AIDS in Thai society. This research focuses on the socio-cultural background of "ritual death" which means a form of social death in the AIDS temple. Their care requires "moral witness" to build a sense of value on life and death. Moral witness supports the people's ritual death for good reincarnation. The people have "forgiveness and forgetfulness" for all kind of care, even though they seem to be no mercy for the people who are just dying. After their study to be a member of the temple, the people come to forgive and forget other's mistake in order to be forgiven and forgotten by others.Finally,I would like to compare palliative care in Theravada Buddhism with in Christianity through my volunteer work. I expect HIV/AIDS situation offer us to think how to care for the people, to decrease discrimination, and to rethink on our life and death.
