项目摘要

本研究の目的は、ダリト（いわゆる「不可触民」）とされるパライヤル・カーストを対象として、1990年代の集団改宗および近年の聖霊運動の台頭と宗教実践の再編に着目し、独立教会で広く観察される文化解釈や文化の受容の変遷を通じてダリトが抱える課題を明らかにすることである。本年度の研究実施内容としては、これまでの博士研究の集大成として学位論文執筆に集中した。研究打ち合わせでは有益なアドバイスをもらうことができ、研究上の課題を明確にすることができた。以下にここに至る研究の成果を記す。(1)本研究が対象とするダリト運動や集団改宗、宗教実践の変容などの調査事象をマクロな文脈に位置づけた。タミル社会政治史を中心に、その関連においてインド政治や製造業の世界的潮流を念頭に置き、調査地において上記の事象が生じた背景を探った。(2)集団改宗が生じた背景をよりミクロな視点で考え、1980年代の改宗の性格を検討した。経済状況の変化、ヒンドゥー至上主義運動の興隆、宣教師団による宣教活動の制限といった時代背景が複次的に絡み合う中で、ダリトの集団改宗は抵抗としてあったことを明らかにした。(3)ダリトの経済環境が改善した2000年代以降、自律的な信仰空間として構築したダリト独立教会が調査地域内で広がるにつれて、ダリト改宗者たちはパライヤル性を宗教実践に取り入れ始める。ダリト運動で垣間見えるアイデンティティの政治とは異なる動きが観察された。(4)世界的潮流である聖霊降臨運動の高まりをタミル農村社会におけるダリトの独立教会に落とし込み、農村社会変容に伴うコミュニティ内での分断に対応するものとしての宗教実践が果たす意味を検討した。

The purpose of this study is to clarify the issue of cultural understanding and cultural tolerance change in the context of the 1990s religious reform and the recent re-organization of religious practices in the context of the 1990s religious movement. This year's research is focused on the synthesis of doctoral research and the writing of dissertation. The research is helpful and the topic is clear.
