项目摘要

５月、東京大学主催のシンポジウム「恋愛の言語態―ことばが織りなす恋模様」に登壇し、口頭発表「2000年代日本の小説にみる恋愛のゆらぎと川上未映子『すべて真夜中の恋人たち』」を行った。報告者は現代日本語文学を、川端康成の小説を21世紀の今読むための補助線にしようと考えている。したがって2000年代の小説を概観し、一つの発表にまとめることは、研究計画の全体にとって有意義だった。11月には明治大学情報コミュニケーション学部のゼミにおいて、特別講義「生死と虚構―川端康成「禽獣」を読む」を行った。報告者にとっては初めての授業経験であり、重要なステップアップである。必ずしも文学を専門としない学部３・４年生と、小説「禽獣」の解釈や文体的特質、先行研究の展開のほか、文学・文化研究の方法や直面し得る困難について活発に議論した。１月には日本比較文学会東京支部例会で、口頭発表「川端康成「たんぽぽ」の文体―身体とその欠落と絡めて」を行った。川端最後の長編かつ未完の作品を取り上げて、複数の作中人物の間で焦点が転じる文体を、「人体欠視［症］」という主題に導かれる作中人物の身体のあいまいさと併せて論じ、先行研究が見逃してきた母親と娘のエロティックな関係を前景化した。加えて３月、東京大学大学院総合文化研究科言語情報科学専攻に課程博士論文の執筆資格を申請した。川端康成の全体像を動態として提示するため、文体と身体を切り口にして複数の小説を分析するという構想で、膨大な先行研究を時に批判的に踏まえつつ、現代日本語文学から示唆を受けることにより、2017年の今ここでこそ必要かつ可能な読解を目指す。「美しさ」を評価する枠組みが女性を沈黙させる形で作品を矮小化したのに対し、そうした基準に収まらない言葉と身体の交わりに川端文学の価値を求める。申請書類の執筆を含む今年度の成果によって、博士論文の完成への道筋が明確になった。
