今年度は昨年度の実績に基づき、①戦時中（1937～45年）における日中間の人口移動の背景、②同時期の軍事動員と比較して自律的な移動を行なった人々、について研究を行なった。戦時中という特別な時期に国家は如何に人々の移動を規制・統御し、またその下で人々は実際にどう移動したのかということを念頭に置いて、研究を進めた。まず①の戦時中における人口移動の背景については、この時期の人の移動についての先行研究においては、社会史という角度から移動先における人々の活動についての内容が多く見られるが、それらと異なり本研究が着目したのは、そもそも人々はなぜ移動できたのか、どのような法律や政策がその移動の根拠となっているのかということである。また、それと同時に、本研究では日中戦争中の中国大陸に存在していた対日協力政権としての満洲国、汪兆銘南京政府、華北政務委員の人口移動政策についても分析を行なった。それらの政権の間の国境線などの境界線の状況、人々の行き来及びそれらの政府にとっての自国民、「友好国」国民の日本人、また日本帝国臣民の一員の台湾人の位置づけについても、各政権の一次史料から整理と考察を行なった。そして、②比較的自律的に移動できた人々については、まず台湾人について、本研究では主に戦争中に台湾から内地に移動してきた労働者や留学生を中心に分析を行なった。これらの人々はどうして移動できたのかについて、当時の戦況と日本帝国の労働力状況を照らし合わせながら、考察を行なった。また、中国大陸籍者については、汪兆銘政権駐日代表団の資料から、戦時中に実際に行き来できた人々の資料から考察を行なった。先行研究では動員の暴力性ばかりが強調される傾向にあった当該時期の移動について、本研究の分析によって、戦時中の人々の移動を巡る具体像と全体像を描くことができるようになった。
