本年度は主に次の2つの研究を中心に行った。1つ目は、昨年度に引き続き取り組んでいる、財政政策と経済成長、特許権保護の強化に関する研究である。本研究ではR＆Dに基づく経済成長モデルに、生産性を上昇させる公共資本を導入している。分析の結果、特許権保護の水準が高い場合、課税の効果が最終的に経済成長に正の影響を及ぼしうることを明らかにした。これは、特許権保護の度合いによって、財政政策が経済成長に与える影響が異なることを示している。理論モデルの改良を行い、どの程度現実の経済を説明できるのかということを調べるために、カリブレーションによる分析を行った。2つ目は、金融政策と企業の参入・退出に関する研究である。Niwa (2018) では、特許権を所有してサバイバル活動を行う既存企業と新規参入企業が存在する、R＆Dに基づく経済成長モデルを用いて、既存企業と新規参入企業との間にロイヤリティーの受け渡しを導入した場合、特許権保護の強化やR&Dに対する補助金政策が経済成長および社会厚生に与える影響について分析した。本研究ではNiwa (2018) などの研究をふまえて、市場からの退出を防ぐために既存企業がサバイバル投資活動を行うモデルを用いて、金融政策がイノベーションやR＆D企業の参入・退出にどのような効果を持つのか、ということを分析している。金融政策によってインフレーションが引き起こされたとき、それがR＆D企業の行動に及ぼす影響について分析したことが、本研究の貢献である。
