项目摘要

令和4年度は、研究計画初年度として、コロナによる諸制限が緩和されたのを踏まえ、本研究計画でカバーする予定の主たる国と地域（マレーシア諸都市、シンガポール、インドネシア諸都市など）につき、現地入りして予備調査のかたちで研究活動に着手した。（ただしインドネシアについては、コロナの現況を確認のうえ、大事をとって翌年度以降に調査を延期することにした。）コロナ禍を経て、宗教組織や宗教施設の状況に微妙な、もしくは大きな変化が顕在化し、興味深い問題を内包していることからり、コロナを境にしてその前後の変化・変容に焦点を当てるかたちでの研究視角も採り入れることとした。本年度の具体的な調査内容としては、シンガポールの諸地区における各宗教施設の分布状況を調べ、祭事における民族集団の参加と交流のありさまをHDBのヒンドゥー教系の祭事への参与観察によって探った。マレーシアのクアラルンプルとペナンで調査に従い、前者においてはタミルの祭礼（ポンガル）の祝祭の様子をブリックフィールド地区に散在する諸寺院で、後者（ペナン）ではジョージタウン市の複数のヒンドゥー寺院を束ねる資産管理組織PHEBにて、事務長から詳しく話を聴いた。また同市内で金細工師のカースト集団が営むカーマーッチ寺院における祭事を参与観察し、同寺院管理委員会の議長からも研究テーマに関わる情報を収集し得た。これらマレーシアの主要2市においては、スィク教のグルドワーラ等も訪れて日曜日に参集する信者やその家族の様子を観察するとともに、マレーシアへのパンジャーブ系移民の現況と動態とを把握した。以上のように、渡航できる範囲で集中的に調査に従事することができたが、研究論文等のかたちでの成果の公開については、取り急ぎ着手したいと考えている。
