项目摘要

1920年代から40年代初めの期間を対象とする植民地朝鮮の映画産業についての先行研究を、主に韓国側の二次資料を通して調査・分析した。一番注目したのは、映画に関する朝鮮総督府の政策についての研究で、映画が持つ宣伝・大衆教化機能を活用するため組織された「活動写真班」についての研究（キム・ジョンミン、べ・ビョンウク、ボク・ファンモ）、また1940年以後の戦時期、朝鮮映画令の施行に伴う製作及び配給と上映に関わる変化を追跡した研究（ハム・チュンバム）、そして総督府傘下警務局図書課（のちに情報課）による検閲政策に関する研究（ムン・ハンビョル、ハン・サンオン、チェ・ソンヒ）などが行われたと確認できた。ただ20年代と40年代に焦点が合わされて、30年代の状況が見逃されている点、そして総督府による「統制」と「従属の構造」を強調している点などは今後本研究を通して考え直す課題であると指摘できる。韓国映画史の中で海外との交流についての研究は、合作の場合、戦後の状況、殊に香港・台湾との合作を扱うもの（例えば『韓国合作映画100年史』）が殆どであると確認できた。これは日本が製作に参加した映画を「合作」というより実質的に日本が主体になって作られたものとして認めていることを示していると考えられる。この問題は「植民地朝鮮映画」の「ナショナルシネマ」としてのアイデンティティにもつながる問題で、それを帝国日本の立場や視線をもっと含めて考えることを主張する研究（イ・ファジン、チョン・ジョンファ、カン・テウン）も増えていると言える。他方、広い意味の「交流」を扱う研究も進んでいて、朝鮮と中国の間の交流（チン・ジャオリン、ハン・ジェウン）や朝鮮で活躍した日本人俳優・脚本家（ハム・チュンバム）についての研究などを取り上げられるが、個人レベルの交流を超えて産業・政策の次元でアプローチするものはまだ少ないと指摘できる。
