本研究の目的は、非人道的行為をおこなう権力者への間接的抵抗を解明することである。権力者への抵抗は直接的抵抗と間接的抵抗の2つに大別される。直接的抵抗とは、非人道的行為をおこなう権力者と、処罰を被りうるかたちで対決する行動である。間接的抵抗とは、処罰を被らないかたちで権力者の非人道的行為を骨抜きにする行動である。正義を実現するうえで直接的抵抗が重要であることは言を俟たない。しかしながら、すべての人が処罰を被りやすい直接的抵抗をやれるわけではない。直接的抵抗をやらない人でも、間接的抵抗により権力者の非人道的行為を骨抜きにできる。ここに間接的抵抗の意義がある。これまで社会心理学において間接的抵抗を主題的に論じた研究はない。そこで初年度は、研究の第１歩として間接的抵抗の事例研究をおこなうことにした。事例研究はおおよそ以下のように進めた。間接的抵抗の特徴が鋭く顕在化するのは戦争・虐殺・圧政下である。戦争・虐殺・圧政にかんする史料を数多く収集し解読する作業をおこない、間接的抵抗の事例を抽出した。とくに注目したのはナチ支配下の民衆の事例、戦前日本における徴兵忌避の事例、戦場で面従腹背行動をとった兵士の事例である。これらの事例を理論的・実践的観点から分析した。分析の焦点としたのは、間接的抵抗現象にみられる集合行動機制、間接的抵抗と思想信仰の関係、直接的抵抗と間接的抵抗の補完関係などである。以上のような事例研究の成果を、2022 Annual Conference for the Society for Qualitative Inquiry in Psychologyおよび日本質的心理学会第19回大会において発表した。さらに研究成果を論文として刊行する作業に入った。
