项目摘要

本研究は東アジアの顔料の歴史を解明することを目的としている。絵画や工芸品などの有機物は歴史の中で朽ち果てるが、鉱物の粉を用いる顔料は遺跡の中で色鮮やかに残る。彩色材料としての顔料は、古代より様々な種類が使用されており、遺跡および遺物の顔料の科学的調査研究は、古代国家間の文化交流を探る鍵となる。本研究の対象とするモンゴルは、長年に渡る中国との争いと交易、モンゴル帝国の興亡と東西交流など、東アジアの歴史を解明する上で重要な地域であるにも関わらず、これまで顔料の分析科学的な研究は行われておらず、東アジア各国の研究の中で空白地域であった。本研究の基礎となる顔料の分析科学的研究では、非破壊調査や同位体比研究など、これまで日本が東アジアの研究をリードしてきた。本研究の目的は、中国・韓国・日本の既存研究を基礎に、実際にモンゴルの発掘調査に参加して試料を採取し、モンゴル国で発見された彩色顔料の同定を通して産地・技術を明らかにすることにある。この目的を達成するために、モンゴルの草原地帯の発掘調査に同行して試料を採取し、日本で分析科学的な調査研究を進めている。これまでのモンゴルの現地調査において、古代顔料の試料採取および日本の研究機関で成分分析等の科学調査を行った。また、前年に採取した試料に対して、定期的に変質状況を調査した。

The basis of this study is the study of pigment analysis science, non-destructive investigation, isotope ratio research, and Japanese research. The purpose of this study is to establish the basis of existing research in China, Korea and Japan, and to participate in the development and investigation of color pigments. To achieve this goal, we will conduct research on the development of grassland areas, sample collection, and analytical science. We conduct on-site investigations in this area, sample collection of ancient pigments, and scientific investigations such as component analysis at Japanese research institutes. In addition, the previous year, we conducted regular inspections on the quality of test materials.
