本研究は青年前期に親子が物理的に離れざるを得ない環境における親子分離の心理的課題を逆説的に捉え、親離れの促進の機会、すなわち青年期の発達課題である自己概念（自律・自立）の形成に貢献するという仮説を検証することを目的とし、沖縄県離島の「15の島立ち」にみる親子分離の実態調査および「15の島立ち」の当事者にインタビューを行う。　　令和4年度は、実態調査としてすでに着手していた沖縄県小離島の15の島立ち関係者へのインタビューを追加実施する予定であったが、交通事故に遭い、自宅療養期間を経たのちも主治医および安全衛生管理委員会から時短勤務、出張禁止、時間外禁止などの就業上の制限があり、現在も継続中である。計画通りに研究は進められていないが、事故前に行っていた関係者へのインタビューの逐語録作成を行い分析中である
