高齢者施設・住まい（以下、高齢者施設）は、終末期ケアや看取りの場として期待されるが、認知症などにより事前の意向把握や話し合いが困難となるケースが多いことや、高齢者施設に勤務する看護職や介護職の終末期ケアの知識・技術不足が指摘されている。本研究では、高齢者施設で実行可能な入居者の終末期ケアの質を改善するために有効な教育介入を開発し、実施・評価する。申請時点で予定している研究活動は、①高齢者施設における終末期ケアの質を改善するためのシステマティックレビュー、② 教育介入の開発、③介入研究による効果の検証、④ 普及を見据えた介入プロセスの評価、であった。これらを基盤として、他の高齢者施設における介入の普及と実装につなげることを構想している。今年度は、教育介入プログラムの開発に向けて、研究代表者と研究分担者とで議論を重ね、教育介入の対象と想定している介護職者を対象としたインタビュー調査による基礎資料を収集することとした。インタビュー調査の実施に向け、倫理審査申請を作成し、承認された。今後は、国内外の文献レビューに並行して、インタビュー調査を行い、得られたデータについては、質的帰納的に分析を進め、教育介入開発の基礎資料とする。
