European Network on the Investigation of Religious Pluralism

As yet, ongoing research projects on religious pluralization on a regional as well as on a national level are largely conducted without mutual reference to one another. Therefore, the submitted proposal aims at integrating several European research projects and expanding research on religious pluralization. We want to establish and expand real and virtual communication structures between researchers working in this field.The proposed capacity building strategy covers a) a conference on mutual information on current research projects, methodology, and societal transfer of our investigation on religious pluralization, b) the development of a communication platform for researchers investigating religious pluralization processes (including Chat and RSS-Feed), c) enhancing networking of young researchers in this field, d) the development of a website for both academia and the broader public.The expected outcomes and impacts of the proposed capacity building activities are as follows:a) Establishment of Europe-wide communication structures among researchers; b) development of a common methodology to determine religious pluralization processes as a basis for comparing the results of the projects involved, c) information of the broader public in the countries participating; e) preparation of a proposal for the 7th EU's Framework Programme concerning a comparison of the participating countries.
