项目摘要

本研究は、インドネシア島嶼部に現存する密教系仏教の出土遺品・文献資料の総合的分析を深めることで、当該地域における仏教形態を解明する。平成 29～31 年度調査研究では、これまで十全の資料収集がなされなかった密教法具やヒンドゥー教・仏教関係の儀軌、金属板に刻された経典や簡易に制作できる小型泥塔なども含む独自の包括的な調査・検証に注力し、かつバリ島諸寺院に伝存する文献資料の全容把握と主要経論の解読に努めることで、イン仏教とは明確に異なった諸相を持つことが確認でた。だが、調査研究を進める中で、所蔵機関・所蔵者が把握していない資料の存在や、これまでに収集・報告された内容についても比定に不備がある例に少なからず直面した。したがって、本研究ではこれらの未調査・未検証の資料を、平成 29～31 年度調査研究の成果と併せて総合的に分析し、インドネシア島嶼部における密教系仏教の全容を解明する
