项目摘要

本研究の目的は、中近世移行期権力が村落や都市に及ぼした影響を、政治史・法制史・経済史の視点から総合的に把握し、当該期の社会変動の総体を明らかにすることである。本年度も昨年度に引き続き、16世紀中頃～17世紀中頃の史料（特に古文書および古記録）を収集しながら、近世社会形成に大きな役割を果たしたとされる豊臣政権の政治構造を主な検討対象とした。豊臣政権については、これまでも様々な研究蓄積がなされてきたが、各分野における成果が必ずしも有機的には結びつけられておらず、それらを含みこみながら、全体像の考察を行うことが求められている。このような課題を解決するために、本研究で重視しているのは豊臣政権の内部構造の解明、とりわけ政策・法令の決定過程であるが、その理由は、政権が社会との折衝を行う中で、様々な政治決定や政策の取捨選択を行っており、その過程を考察することで当該社会の特質を明らかにしうると考えられるからである。そしてその成果の一部を、「豊臣政権の算用体制」（『史学雑誌』123―12）、「豊臣政権の訴訟対応―畿内・近国の村落出訴を中心に―」（『史林』98―2）に発表した。「豊臣政権の算用体制」では、政権の算用関係文書の類型を提示し、それらが組み合わさって算用の際の証拠文書として利用されていたこと、及びそのうちの「算用状」を発給する奉行の変遷を追うことで、政権の内部構造についての一端（算用奉行の成員の変遷と、その職掌）を明らかにした。「豊臣政権の訴訟対応―畿内・近国の村落出訴を中心に―」では、訴訟に対応した奉行の成員の変遷を解明し、政権は保証力と絶対性を有する裁定を行うことで、「公儀」の正当性を得たと結論づけた。
