英文摘要
Elinor Bridges undertook an undergraduate degree in Biology with Science and Society with Industrial/Professional Experience BSc (hons) at the University of Manchester, and graduated in 2018. It was during her placement year that she became interest in research surrounding learning, where she worked at Chester Zoo and assisted with research projects investigating the effectiveness of educational interventions for school age children. She continued to build on this interest during her undergraduate dissertation. She built a foundation in analysing human behaviour through statistics by studying Social Research Methods and Statistics MSc at the University of Manchester from 2018-19. Her MSc dissertation investigated predictors of literary engagement in the spare time of school age children using structural equation modelling. Her PhD, supervised by Dr Michelle Luciano, is titled 'Gene-Environment Correlation and Interaction in the Development of Reading Ability and Relation to Life Outcomes'. This project will use both biological and environmental data to investigate the interaction between potential genetic and environmental indicators of the development of reading ability.
