Design, build and test two 50kW 600V SiC MOSFET motor drives. One with a traditional hard-switched commutation and the other using additional parts to achieve zero voltage switching. Assessment of cost, size, control complexity and reliability of both schemes. Possible novelty from a new control scheme or clever use of passive components to achieve ZVS over a wide range. The study should include analysis of forced resonant and passive ZVS schemes.
