Lithium resources are limited and unable to cope with the expected expansion of the battery market for electric vehicles and stationary energy storage. Sodium-ion batteries, made of fully sustainable materials, are seen as the most promising candidate for the next generation of batteries, and a material developed previously in our lab exhibits the highest capacity reported to date for a negative electrode. Partnering with Deregallera Ltd, this project will address the scientific and technical advances required to bring this material to commercial cells.
