Unleashing the Power of AI in Synthetic Genomics: This PhD project combines syntheticgenomics and artificial intelligence to unlock genome architecture insights. We aim tostreamline the genome engineering process by utilising advanced gene manipulationtechniques like CRISPR/Cas9 and the power of AI. Our project employs generative deepneural networks, akin to large language transformers, to develop generative models ofgenome organisation. The models will be experimentally validated usingSchizosaccharomyces pombe to create minimal and efficient genomes optimised forprotein production. This interdisciplinary project promises to revolutionise ourunderstanding of genome organisation, potentially impacting various biotechnologyapplications.
