Non-perturbative constraints on strongly interacting systems

The project fits in with EPSRC strategies via both the physical sciences and the quantum technology themes. Both the "Emergence and physics far from equilibrium" and the "Quantum physics for new quantum technologies" areas are very relevant. Imogen's project will be related to Fendley's work for our new group EPRSC grant "Interactive dynamics of Many-Body Quantum Systems", funding the quantum condensed-matter theory group (F. Essler, PI). In particular, the project will start by addressing issues in Objective 2.2 of this grant, exploring protected edge modes in strongly interacting Floquet systems. Imogen will collaborate both with her supervisor Fendley and with the PI Essler on this project.
