This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Brca2 is believed to be a critical component in homologous recombination pathway. We have shown how th c-terminal of Brca2 binds with single strand DNA. In order to understand its physiological function, we would like to determine structure of Brca2 protein with its recognized substrate and interacting partners, including rad51.
