This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The goal of the proposed study is to determine whether the drugs acetaminophen and fexofenadine interact pharmacokinetically. Twenty healthy volunteers will receive acetaminophen and fexofenadine on separate occasions and together. The order of drug administration will be randomized. Serial blood and urine samples will be collected and analyzed for parent drug (blood and urine) and metabolites (urine). We anticipate a lack of interaction between these two compounds.
