Specific aims The goal of our COBRE during year 6 was to make a fast transition to the second cycle of COBRE with four new junior PIs, by providing a mentoring program, facilitating their research by providing needed resources, and encouraging them to submit NIH grants with a goal of obtaining an R01 funding by the end of year 3 (in our case 1/31/09). Our long-term goal was to prepare our Biomedical Research and Integrative NeuroImaging (BRaIN Imaging) Center currently funded primarily by the COBRE grant for a transition to a research program supported by a center grant ouside of the IDeA mechanism.
