IDENTIFICATION OF POTENTIAL NDC10 INTERACTING PROTEINS BY TWO-HYBRID

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The NDC10 gene was originally identified on the basis of its essential role in kinetochore function and chromosome segregation during mitosis as a centromere bound protein. Investigation has led to a fair understanding of Ndc10's interactions at the centromere with DNA and other proteins; however, the observation that Ndc10 also localizes to the mitotic spindle has garnered less study. We are interested in trying to identify proteins that interact with Ndc10, and we propose performing a genome-wide two-hybrid screen using Ndc10 as bait to do this.
