This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The overall objective of the Biostatistics Core is to provide rigorous methodological and biostatistical support for the South Carolina COBRE for Oral Health. As specific aims, the Core will provide: (1) statistical collaboration, (2) data management, (3) a web site for the COBRE, (4) assistance in procurement and analysis of existing data from diverse sources to support COBRE studies, (5) mentoring of COBRE investigators in biostatistical research methods, (6) collaboration on an oral health assessment of African American¿s living on the Sea Islands of South Carolina and adjacent coastal communities, and (7) transfer of recent biostatistical methodologies to oral health research.
