This study aims to determine whether AG-PN decreases hospital mortality, nosocomial infections, and other indices of hospital morbidity in SICU patients; to determine whether AG-PN improves indices of gut barrier function; to determine whether AG-PN improves indices of innate and adaptive immunity; and to determine whether AG-PN increases systemic concentrations of cytoprotective molecules.
