英文摘要
Summary
The data science supplement aims to achieve objective 2 of NOT-OD-23-123, developing
infrastructure at the University of Wyoming to support brain health research in bioinformatics,
supercomputing, modeling, simulation, training, and education. The Wyoming Sensory Biology
COBRE (WSBC) conducts high-quality scientific research on human sensory systems and
related disorders, addressing critical public health issues like Alzheimer's disease. While data
science is crucial for WSBC's research goals, it was not a major component of the parent
award. The underdeveloped data science research infrastructure at UW poses challenges for
WSBC researchers, hindering the leveraging of omics technologies. Therefore, this proposal
outlines three specific aims: 1) Establishing institutional infrastructure for brain health data
science research. 2) Enhancing access to controlled omics and electrophysiology datasets,
promoting research collaboration and training. 3) Expanding research bases in data science and
fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. These aims have a significant impact on local
neuroscience research communities by driving innovation, advancing brain health research, and
creating a productive research ecosystem.
