英文摘要
The requested equipment is a mass spectrometer designed for the analysis of evolved gases that are produced during thermal treatments which are performed with an existing thermal analysis (TG) system. The mass spectrometer will be coupled with the thermogravimetric balance for simultaneous TG-MS analyses. The aim of the research of my group is to develop new types of porous organic-inorganic hybrid materials with designed functionalities for the production of highly selective sorbents, recyclable and size-and-shape selective solid catalysts, controlled delivery systems and sensing devices. To achieve this goal, the research focuses on the design of porous solids structured at the nanoscale level (1-100 nm) and combining different functions originating from the assembly of constituents with distinct properties. Synthetically, our approach is based on locating specifically functional polymer or organic entities inside highly porous inorganic hosts, with a precise control of the spatial disposition of the different fonctionalities. The interfaces between organics and the inorganic constituent, their local environment and the relative disposition of components in the structure are expected to influence greatly the properties of the resulting composites. In addition to applications and technological aspects, the research program also emphasizes fundamental understanding of host-guest interactions within solid matrices and transport phenomena at the nanoscale, and should shed light on the relationships between structure and functions. The use of mass spectrometry combined with thermal analyses is essential for the characterisation of the functional organic-inorganic hybrid nanomaterials . Particularly, the combination of methods will enable us to detect, identify and quantify all sorts of additives present in the solid matrices, to specify adsorption-desorption processes, to evaluate thermal stability of the systems, and to investigate chemical reactions within nanopores. These combined techniques will bring substantial benefit to our research effort and allow us to develop rapidly new materials for advanced applications.
