英文摘要
The concurrent study of behavior and molecular changes in the brain has been central to our understanding of many processes taking place in our brains. The current group application aims at further developping the molecular technical capacity in our behavioural laboratories. Using this equipment, we will study (1) how the brain obtains it main fuel, glucose, (2) how the visual system works and what causes its malfunction in inherited diseases, (3) how the brain recover from injury following ischemia, and (4) how long-term stress changes our brains. These studies use cutting edge techniques and will enhance our knowledge of the brain and will further applications that can be used to improve health and disease recovery.
