A red-sensitive luminescence spectrophotometer is requested for the synthetic inorganic chemistry groups (Hanan, Zargarian, Schaper) at the Université de Montréal. This equipment will allow for fast analyses of new photoluminescent compounds as they are developed, thus avoiding long delays for measurement time on ultra precise equipment at the UdeM (Skene, Winnik, Physics) or instruments set up for solids and lipids (Reber, Lafleur). In any event, the majority of this equipment does not have red-sensitive detectors Although international collaborators could be asked, the turn around time for measurements in these lab is also quite long and would hinder the training of highly qualified personnel in Canada.
