Eye gaze tracking and recording has proved to be one of the most useful tools available to experimental psychologists for the study of cognition. The ability to precisely monitor and record an individual's gaze has allowed researchers to explore the moment-by-moment processing of information in a variety of tasks. Researchers have used eye tracking to study face processing, visual search, scene perception, sentence processing, word identification, visual attention, and many other cognitive abilities. The proposed eye tracking system will be used for the applicants' word identification and reading research and for their memory and attention research. The system will provide many new training opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students and will allow the researchers to build and expand on their existing research programs.
