We propose to establish an experimental platform for highly dynamic optimization problems encountered in self-adaptive software systems running on mobile devices or other personal digital assistants. The proposed equipment will support a research team of five professors with over 30 graduate students at University of Victoria. The team involves experts in the areas of software engineering, theory of algorithms, self-adaptive software systems, context management, optimization problems, data mining, and network management.
