项目摘要
The project concerns the development of new chemical methods for the manufacture of organic chemicals based upon the use of metal catalysts as well as organic-based catalysts. The objectives are to discover new modes of reactivity of both metal-based catalysts and organic catalysts, including chiral, asymmetric synthesis. These methods are of interest on a fundamental level in exploring new reactions and types of chemical reactivity. Applications of these methods on a practical level towards the production of pharmaceuticals, such as anticancer and antibacterial agents, as well as fine chemicals and substances of interest in the materials fields, such as organic-based photovoltaic materials is the longer term objective.
