英文摘要
Circulating tumor cells are shed into the bloodstream by growing tumours. CTCs can be present even when tumours are small and therefore present a promising marker for noninvasive early detection of cancer. We are developing a new device that can isolate these cells and classify their biochemical state. This device may aid in the analysis of tumours using a blood sample collected non-invasively, and its use could eventually lead to the development of improved cancer screening tests. In this project, we are advancing a CTC analysis device to commercialization by re-engineering it to be amenable to high volume manufacturing. We will also integrate a CTC detection system that will be user-friendly and straightforward to automate. With these key advances in hand, we will be ready to pursue commercialization of this device.
