Our industry partner O-Eland specializes in designing, manufacturing and marketing innovative products for fiber optics, photonics, sensors and instrumentation. O-Eland is Montreal-based and has an immediate market-driven need to develop a wavelength-swept laser system with a wide tuning range and a fast tuning speed. Wavelength-swept fiber lasers are widely used in application domains including telecom, sensing and bio-medical fields. Specific to O-Eland is the emerging application of optical coherent tomography (OCT), where scattered and reflected light from a living tissue, is resolved in the frequency domain by interference using a reference light source.
