The chemical composition of Earth's atmosphere is changing due to the influence of human activity. These changes are affecting, and will continue to affect, the quality of life on Earth. Two important and related changes, ozone depletion and climate change, have been identified internationally as two of the "grand challenges" for atmospheric science in this century. To address these grand challenges, my research group makes measurements from space and from the ground to study the chemical composition of the Earth's atmosphere and how it is changing with time. To further this research program, we will undertake the following projects over the next five years.
