Vascularix is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thornhill Scientific lnc., a spin-off of Toronto's University Health Network. We are commercializing the RespirAct system, which controls gas concentrations in the lungs and blood, as a non-invasive, drug-free, stress agent for use in cardiac blood flow testing. Cardiac stress testing is performed to identify patients with heart disease, and to guide treatment. The RespirAct system has been used as a scientific tool for brain vascular assessment in over 500 clinical cases resulting in over 40 peer-reviewed publications primarily based on brain vascular reactivity. Vascularix is pursuing the commercialization of RespirAct for the cardiac stress test indication first, as the expected adoption and reimbursement landscape is more favorable than for the brain indications studied to date.
