Due to increasing security concerns and emphasis on public safety, Aimetis Corp. seeks to design a video analytics systems for monitoring crowded environments like public transit hubs. This project aims to investigate computer vision algorithms for learning the appearance of a static background scene under the presences of foreground objects such as people and vehicles. Once the background scene is learned, Aimetis motion detection and tracking systems can be used for monitoring crowded scenes.
