项目摘要
Cancer and heart disease are the two leading causes of death in Canada, with incidence *rates increasing year after year. Early screening and detection is paramount, *particularly given significantly increased survival rates and improved quality of life *when detected early. Dr. Wong is developing several integrative medical imaging systems that *combine hardware-software co-design using a systems perspective for aiding doctors in* making fast, well-informed clinical decisions and treatment planning. Working with clinical *institutions, this translational research will enable early detection of cancer and heart *disease, and enable early, minimally-invasive treatment for improving patient recovery* times and quality of life.
