英文摘要
While the SPR biosensor market has been dominated for decades by Biacore instruments (GE Healthcare), several startup companies have recently launched their own affordable open-architecture SPR biosensors. Such is the case for Nicoya Lifesciences, a Canadian company based in Waterloo (ON). One of the challenges now faced by the company is to provide their customers with robust and versatile protocols to tether proteins or peptides in an oriented and stable fashion at the surface of their biosensors, hence making the surface versatile and reusable. This collaborative project between École Polytechnique and Nycoya Lifesciences will consist in developing and testing novel protocols based on the use of a de novo designed peptide heterodimerizing system for the capture of chimeric proteins at the surface of Nicoya SPR biosensors. Several biological systems, e.g. monoclonal antibody or binding to their receptors or to growth factors, will serve as case studies. This Engage collaborative project with the laboratory of Prof. De Crescenzo, a renowned expert in the field of SPR, will be strategic to achieve these objectives. This project will provide Nicoya Lifesciences with a versatile capture tool to be integrated in their portfolio of bioassays. These tools will be readily adaptable to address the needs of their new customers. These activities also have the potential to drastically improve the company sales as they will demonstrate the applicability of Nicoya instruments to the monoclonal antibody quantitation market.
